Born on a farm in Washington, Heda (Hideko) Yamada M.A. ’77 survived incarceration in the Tule Lake Relocation Center during WWII. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree at NYU and her Master’s Degree from Santa Clara, and taught for the Cupertino Union School District for 25 years. Heda died on Oct. 22, 2021.
