A Palo Alto resident since 1966, Gloria W. Finston M.A. ’75 knew the city like the back of her hand. She enjoyed hiking at Foothills Park and in the Bay Area Foothills, as well as gardening, aerobics, swimming at the local Eichler pool, attending TheaterWorks Productions at the Lucie Stern Community Center, tandem biking with her husband Roland, and tea with friends. Gloria’s other passion was education, working often as a teacher to students with learning disabilities. She worked at Van Auken Elementary School in Palo Alto, then at De Anza Community College as a learning disability specialist. Gloria died on September 6, 2021, and is survived by her sons and extended family.
