Born in Cuba, George Reyes MBA ’79 came to the U.S. at the age of 7 and enjoyed a whirlwind of a career in finance, ultimately retiring as the chief financial officer of Google. He was named 2008 CFO of the Year by the San Francisco Business Times and recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential People by Treasury & Risk Magazine. George also served on many boards, including as a valued advisory board member for SCU’s Leavey School of Business administration. George died on Nov. 8, 2023, and is survived by his children, grandchildren, and wife of 30 years, Susan Vukovatz ’81.
