George U. Ramos ’63, formerly known as “Bud,” died in July 2025 of leukemia. At Santa Clara University, George served a year as vice president of the student body. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in computer science and make a career in high tech. George was dedicated to his family, and strove to be present, accepting, and caring. He shared wisdom and leadership pro bono for community causes, and played pick-up basketball until well into his 80s. An outdoorsman, his adventures took him near and far, rafting through the Grand Canyon, touring around the world in 68 days, trekking to the pyramids of Central America, meditating in the desert, hiking wilderness trails, climbing peaks, and more. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, three siblings, three children, and five grandchildren.
