George Leroy Pifer JD ’68 served during World War II as an intelligence officer and went from active duty to the reserves until 1955 when he was honorably discharged as a major. After graduating SCU, he became Deputy District Attorney for Nevada County, Calif., and opened his part-time practice. Eventually, he became a Justice Court Judge for Nevada County, retiring in 1990 after 18 years on the bench. He died Jan. 20, 2020. His wife of 75 years, Helen I. Fredrickson Pifer, predeceased him. He is survived by their children.
