At a young age, Gary Ledesma M.A. ’73 learned how upward mobility could be achieved through education. He became a strong advocate for all students and worked ardently to improve San Joes City College’s campus climate. A staunch supporter of equity, Gary pushed to provide more resources and change the campus outlook for underrepresented and first-generation college students. The kings of his heart were his family and his faith. Gary came from a big family and grew up playing basketball with his brothers on their team called “Six Brothers.” He later enjoyed playing basketball with his own children. Nothing gave him more joy than laughing with family. Gary died Feb. 25, 2024.
