One of the founders of the historic downtown San Pedro Square and Market, Frank Cucuzza ’55 made a significant contribution to the City of San Jose. He co-developed its now esteemed restaurant district and was hands-on, from building a recycled barn-wood indoor market and preserving landmarks like the Peralta Adobe to working with city government. A fair businessman, Frank believed the secret to a good deal was the equal benefit of both parties. Frank was an admired member of the local community and he could hardly go anywhere without running into someone he knew. Later in life he and wife Margaret enjoyed traveling to destinations like Hong Kong, London, and Bosnia. He could often be found cooking up tomato sauce or apricot jam from his garden bounty while enjoying a Manhattan with just the right amount of vermouth. Frank died May 30, 2024.
