Francisco Zepponi ’05 married Amanda Bloomberg ’08 on July 1, 2017, in Mission Santa Clara. The couple met at The Hut while Amanda was finishing her senior year studying combined sciences. Francisco was attending an alumni event as he had graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in accounting. While at SCU, Francisco was an integral member of the men’s tennis team and still holds the record for most career wins. His record for most wins in a season was just recently broken. Amanda was a four-year member of the SCU Dance Team and coached the team the year after she graduated. She was accepted to Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, where she obtained her doctorate in veterinary medicine.
Amanda practices small animal veterinary medicine in Dublin, and Francisco works in the finance department at Kaiser Permanente. They live in Pleasanton with their cat, Boiler (named after the Purdue Boilermakers) and their Chihuahua, Bella, who grew up on SCU’s campus and was even voted as the tennis team’s #1 fan.
Francisco and Amanda are still extremely close to the friends they made while attending SCU, many of whom were present at the wedding and have gone on to marry fellow Broncos. The ceremony was officiated by Paul Soukup, S.J., and the reception was held at The Westin in downtown San Jose. The day was filled with love, laughter, and tears. During Francisco’s earlier years in school, he experienced the devastating loss of his parents, Dolores and Roy Zepponi. His classmates, teammates, and coaches were pillars of love and support for him and will always be considered family to the couple. Francisco and Amanda love to add to the statistics of students who meet their soul mates at SCU. They are forever Broncos at heart and cannot wait to continue their Bronco traditions in the future.
