A curious and adventurous soul, Eugene Helfrich ’51 had a love for travel that was sparked during a college trip to Europe and endured through the rest of his life and across countless countries. After graduation, Frank served his country in Korea before beginning a 30-year career with the Federal Reserve Bank. In retirement, Frank poured his heart into preserving the stories of his hometown as a dedicated member and two-time president of the Menlo Park Historical Society. He cherished his siblings William ’38, Mary, Richard, Robert ’49, Loretta, and Philip Helfrich ’51, and became a beloved uncle whose kindness, humor, and presence left lasting impressions on his many nieces and nephews, including William Helfrich ’74 and Kathleen Helfrich ’79. Frank died on June 19, 2025.
