Emily M. Eng ’06 is a graphic artist for The Seattle Times. She worked closely on the paper’s “Hostile Waters” series—initially sculpting a clay orca, baking it in a toaster oven, and hand painting it to add to her Times infographic on killer whales. After graduating from SCU with a B.S. in biology, she gained a graduate certification in science illustration and worked as a staff artist for National Geographic Magazine.
