After being ordained into the Society of Jesus in 1952, Elmer Luthman M.S. ’65, MBA ’69 met Virginia Hughes ’67 while working at Santa Clara. He received his dispensation from Rome and married Virginia in 1970, and became a devoted husband and father to two sons. Elmer worked at Hewlett-Packard for 17 years, later at Santa Clara University’s Executive Development Center, and concluded his career as a consultant for Western Management. In retirement, he experienced a Renaissance and enjoyed painting, cooking, and teaching English as a Second Language to new Bay Area immigrants. Elmer also loved his evenings with the bocce club of Los Gatos. He died on June 9, 2021.
