After 35 years in a "big law firm," Liz Smith-Chavez ’70 opened her own boutique law firm (Smith Chavez Law) in 2013 in San Diego, specializing in business, real estate and probate litigation and dispute resolution, as well as oil and gas throughout the Western United States and Alaska. Liz has two daughters and three stepsons, as well as a 7 year old grandson who shares her passion for dinosaurs. She is probably the only attorney around with dinosaur poop in her office, right next to the books she has published on California Real Property litigation.
