Edwin Charles “Ted” Strader ’77 was born on Jan. 20, 1955, and grew up in Lake Oswego, Oregon, where he attended Our Lady of the Lake Grade School. He graduated from Jesuit High School in 1973 and SCU, where he received his B.S. in political science. Ted went to work for Merrill Lynch in October 1977 and spent all 42-plus years of his career there as a vice president and senior financial advisor. In his spare time, Ted enjoyed golfing, gardening, and coaching youth sports. Ted was so proud of his wife of 31 years, Janet, and children Allana and Brett. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 14, 2020, in Portland. Ted was preceded in death by his mother and father, Charles J. and Carol Dwyer Strader. He is also survived by his brother, Timothy (Lisa), and sister, Kathleen “KC.”
