Edward Steinert ’68 grew up a talented athlete, especially in football. His high school football team went undefeated for two consecutive years and won the California State Football Championship both years. He lived in 25 different places before settling down in Pettigrew, Arkansas, where he started the area’s first alternative school. While education was his passion, Eddie worked his entire life as a driver and then as trucking company owner. Eddie died June 23, 2024, and is survived by his five children, 10 grandchildren, and former wife and good friend Kathy Steinert ’68.
