Active in ROTC in high school and college, San Francisco native Douglas Gregory Lynn ’56 attended flight school in Pensacola, Florida, and served as a First Lieutenant in the Navy and Navy Reserves. In his professional career, Doug was involved in the development and construction of regional shopping centers around the West for over 40 years, eventually founding his own firm, the Douglas Lynn Company. An avid outdoorsman and active hunter, fisherman, photographer, and conservationist, Doug focused his energies after retirement on organizations that foster the shooting sports and the preservation of game and their habitats. He received the Mzuri Wildlife Foundation’s Steven E. Nelson Sportsman of the Year award in 2006. Doug passed away at the age of 85 on July 4, 2020, and is survived by his wife, and two sons, including Gregory Michael Lynn ’85.
