Doug Cosbie ’79 has been named athletic relations associate and head football coach at Kamehameha Schools Kap’lama. Cosbie joins the Warriors with an extensive background in athletics, playing for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League for 10 years under legendary coach Tom Landry, being selected to the Pro Bowl in each season from 1983-85. He played his collegiate ball at Santa Clara University before being drafted by the Cowboys in the third round of the 1979 NFL Draft.

After his playing career ended in 1989, Cosbie started an impressive coaching career, beginning with a volunteer position at his alma mater, Santa Clara. He also held positions as an assistant under legendary head coach Bill Walsh at Stanford University, as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at the University of California, Berkeley, and as athletic director and head football coach at Menlo University. Cosbie also held head football coaching positions at Sacramento High School from 2006-09 and for a semi-professional team in Italy in 2010.
