California native Dorothy Ellen Cook ’69 found her home sweet home in Wisconsin, where she spent most of her life. Her professional journey began with the Diocese of Madison, continued with adult education, and later included roles at the University of Wisconsin and the State Department of Education. Beyond her career, Ellen devoted herself to community service, volunteering with numerous Madison-area nonprofits and supporting her husband, Marshall, in his work with the University of Wisconsin’s Odyssey Program, which aims to break the cycle of generational poverty. Ellen was a devoted mother to Jeremiah and cherished time with her granddaughter, Lily.
