While Donald Joseph DeGeller JD ’52 practiced patent law, he also had an eye for the arts. In 1975, he and artist Joseph Neary opened The Gallery in San Rafael, where the pair sold artworks. A highly skilled photographer in his own right, Donald made two movies, including”Olympic Footprints,” about the 1960 Winter Olympics. Aside from his work, Donald spent many summers boating on Lake Tahoe and winters skiing at resorts in the Tahoe region. He sailed the waters of San Francisco Bay, the San Joaquin River Delta, and off the coast of California and participated in several Master Mariner’s Regattas on the Bay. Donald died Aug. 9, 2021.
