After earning his bachelor’s in music at SCU, Donald Hutchinson ’78 went on to earn masters’ degrees in both composition and arts management. But a high-tech recruiter who sought musicians for their analytical, logical, and methodical aptitude put him on his career in computers. Don and his wife, Margaret Hutchinson ’84, raised their son in the Sacramento area. Don’s parenting style was such that he was not only dad but also a friend and a mentor. He died in November 2020 from Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Margaret, son Don, and his siblings survive him.
