From his early years, Donald Blauvelt M.A. ’83 knew he wanted to give his life to teaching. Donald found his calling among the Brothers of Holy Cross and worked as an educator across the U.S. He had a prestigious career serving at St. Edward’s University as the executive director of the Holy Cross Institute, the superior of the South-West Province, third assistant in the general administration of Holy Cross in Rome, and as vicar provincial and director of school sponsorship for the Moreau Province. To all positions, he brought a deep sense of mission and was a longtime proponent of the importance of education. His mantra to both board members and administrators, lay and religious leaders alike, was “We’re in this together.” Donald died June 5, 2023.
