Derek Owens J.D. ’02 assumed the role of senior vice president and general counsel for Caterpillar Inc. this summer as he prepares to be appointed chief legal officer and general counsel on Jan. 1, 2024. Owens joined Caterpillar in 2019 as associate general counsel, litigation & investigations, after 15 years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Department of Justice.
