Kind and funny, Derek James ’06 was a devoted father and a lover of cats. He worked as president of DECO PR + Communications, LLC. As a lifelong San Jose resident, he was a big fan of the San Jose Sharks, San Francisco 49ers, and Giants. While at SCU, Derek was a member of the business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi and the Ruff Riders. He died in November 2020. His wife, son, parents, and extended family survive him.
