Dennis "Denny" Riopel ’60 died of cancer on June 17, 2010, at his home in Anaheim, Calif. At his side were his wife Ellen of 50 years and his children and other family members. Denny retired 6 years ago following a career in sales, most recently as an insurance agent for the Knights of Columbus. Denny was very proud of his relationship with the First Friday Friars, Catholic Cursillo and the Knights; his many roles included Grand Knight, District Deputy and head of the Columbian Squires. Denny received many awards for his contributions to the Knights, insurance associations and community services, including Orange County Catholic Man of the Year in 2008.Denny is survived his wife Ellen, son Paul (Leslie and grandson Alexander) Riopel, daughter Patrice (Darrell and grandsons Christopher and Jonathon) Lee, brothers Dave (Lora), Bob (Cheryl), Richard (Harriett), Bill (Suwan), John (Joyce) and Phil (Margie) Riopel. He was preceded in death by parents John and Ardis Riopel and brother Michael.
