In May 2016, David J. Tsai J.D. ’06 was recognized before the California State Legislature with the Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus Excellence in Civil Rights Award. Tsai is a partner in Vinson & Elkins LLP’s San Francisco office and co-naging partner of the firm’s Taipei office. He is committed to pro bono work, has successfully represented a number of API clients in immigration matters, led the filing of a number of amicus briefs for the same sex marriage cases in California, and is responsible for the founding of numerous scholarships for API students. Tsai is the President-Elect of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area. He founded Santa Clara Law’s Diversity Gala.
