While attending Santa Clara, David Osborne MBA ’74 helped design one of the first-ever barcode scanners. After serving as an Electronics Specialist for six years, Osborne worked for IBM, Memorex, and Spectra-Physics until he became the vice president of marketing and sales of Uniphase in 1984. After retiring in 1998, Osborne enjoyed traveling the world with his college sweetheart and wife, Georgia Dorsa, and their three children. Osborne and his wife also created the Oz Foundation, which provides financial support and mentorship to students of low-income families in California, helping 68 students receive their college degrees to date. David died Nov. 1, 2022.
