David Osborne MBA ’74 attended San Jose State where he met his college sweetheart and future wife, Georgia Dorsa. David had an extensive career in tech and would later join Spectra-Physics, the world’s first commercial laser company. David also helped design one of the first barcode scanners while attending Santa Clara University at night for his MBA. With a close group of college friends, David and his family formed a partnership to run a family resort in the Trinity Alps. In retirement, David and Georgia created the Oz Foundation, a charitable trust that provides financial support and mentorship to students of low-income families in California, helping 68 students receive their college degrees to date. The foundation continues to support students along with numerous other charitable organizations. David died on November 1, 2022.
