Decorated Vietnam veteran and retired commercial airline captain David O’Brien ’65 led a life defined by courage, dedication, and heart. While serving in the United States Air Force, David skillfully piloted KC-135 and Caribou aircraft, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and the rank of captain. After his military service, he devoted decades to safely guiding countless passengers across domestic and international skies as a Delta Airlines pilot. Beyond his professional accomplishments, David delighted in his passions such as cheering at baseball games, losing himself in a good book, and showering love on the animals he cared for deeply. David died on Aug. 18, 2025.
