David Niles McIntyre MBA ’69 was born in Oakland on Oct. 1, 1940, to Irma Ruth Niles and Walter T. McIntyre. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1958, received his B.A. from University of Portland in 1962, and his MBA from SCU. David served in the Air Force Reserves and was a retired longtime member of the Multnomah Athletic Club. Skilled as a “numbers guy,” he retired in 2005 as CFO of a high-tech firm in Portland. David was known and appreciated for his wit, intelligence, and Royal Stewart tartan plaid jacket, but not his golfing skills! He was married Joanne (nee Seigel) of Tenafly, N.J., in 1967. Traveling anywhere in Europe was their passion, along with their recent discovery of cruise trips. On Dec. 12, 2018, he passed away as a result of a toxic reaction to chemotherapy. In addition to his wife, David is survived by his children, Amy Caroline Moore (Jason) and Jay Michael (Crystal); five beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Samuel, Hayden, Garry, and Darric; siste, Mary Ethel Potter (Rick); and numerous nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. David was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Julie.
