A love of education spurred David G. Hunter MAT ’15 to earn his Master of Arts in Teaching from Santa Clara University. After teaching high school math for five years, he came back to SCU to earn an MBA. His goal was to combine his love for teaching with his knowledge of business and work in corporate education. He also had aspirations of starting his own company that would automate the teaching process, using VR, gamification and AI. He also had a dream of working alongside the love of his life, Leah, in some capacity where they would counsel and help people who suffer from mental health issues and grief. Music was his religion, and he loved the outdoors. Anyone who knew Dave knew his love for talking, teaching, and debating. He died on April 22, 2021, at the age of 32.
