Daniel S. Hendrickson, S.J., M.Div. ’06 will be Creighton University’s 25th president as of July 2015. Hendrickson was born and raised in Fremont, Nebraska. He moved west to attend Marquette University, graduating with a B.A. in psychology and theology, before entering the Society of Jesus.
He has master’s degrees from Columbia, Fordham, and Santa Clara universities and his Ph.D. came by way of Columbia. Hendrickson has served on the Board of Trustees of Creighton University, Boston College, and Xavier University—all Jesuit institutions—and in the provost’s office at Marquette University.
Scott Heider, search committee member and chair of the Heider College of Business Board, said, “Fr. Hendrickson brings a keen understanding of the value of a Jesuit education. His global teaching experience and his scholarly agenda, focused on Jesuit teaching, makes him particularly well-prepared to deepen Creighton’s connection to its mission.”
