Damian Gutierrez Barnes ’97 has published a novella with Friesen Press. Melton and the Hereafter is the story of a man who is returned to a campground on the Northern California coast when he dies instead of the judgment he was expecting. Volume 1 Brooklyn described it as “a hopeful tale about reconciliation where it matters most; at the heart of universal consciousness.” Damian gave a reading at a Great Good Place for Books in Montclair, Oakland, attended by SCU Alums: Gina Kipilman ’95, Maria Woodruff ’96, and Katherine Kozioziemski ’97.
