Curtis Thomas MA ’71 was a storyteller, master barbecuer, begonia whisperer, professional armchair referee, and backseat driver extraordinaire. Curt could always be recognized from his collared golf shirt, windbreaker, baseball cap, and khaki shorts or pants with a belt. After 5 p.m., he would pair his khaki bottoms and golf shirt ensemble with a half-chewed cigar and glass of Chardonnay. He always parted with a “god bless” and an extended, warm handshake. He will be remembered as an exceptional human being, and, to his daughter, the best there ever was. He died Nov. 24, 2021.
