The patriarch of the family, Curtis Cole ’55, J.D. ’57 loved camping trips, family reunions at Shaver Lake, and travel adventures that spanned the globe. He built a meaningful legal career in Fresno, not just as a respected attorney, but as a mentor and pillar of the workers’ comp community, creating a firm that still carries his name and spirit. Curtis believed in giving back and established scholarships, supporting schools, and staying connected to his alma mater through the SCU Board of Fellows. Curtis died on July 17, 2025. He is survived by his brother Terrell Cole ’56, daughters Cathy Cole Oleson ’77, Nancy Hall ’78, Leslie Von Der Ahe ’79, Leah Cole ’81, step sons James Schimandle ’81 and Matthew Schimandle ’83, and son-in-law Clyde Von Der Ahe ’78.
