Chuck Eichten ’84 wrote, illustrated and designed The Book of Better: Life With Diabetes Can’t Be Perfect, Make It Better (Random House, U.S.; Harper Collins, Canada), leveraging skills honed working the late shift at The Santa Clara.

The Book distills all the idiotic things and all the smart things Chuck did over 30 years living with diabetes into a collection of ways to make life with the condition BETTER. Until Jon Stewart or Oprah discovers The Book, Chuck is a creative director at Nike, Inc and lives with his wife Michelle (Imhof) ’87, and beautiful kids Matthew, Eiley, and Violet in Portland, Ore.
