Charlie Horkan ’73 graduated from SCU with a degree in history. He later earned a master’s in history and taught in education. He then earned a J.D. and became a stockbroker. After retiring from Schwab, Charlie became a real estate developer in Idaho. He and his wife of over 40 years, Tess, moved to McCall, Idaho, in 2016, where he continued developing real estate until his untimely passing after a short illness on Dec. 1, 2017. He remained best friends with his Santa Clara roommate Steve Czuleger ’73, whom he spoke with nearly every day since graduating from Santa Clara.
