Charles Longwello ’61 attended Santa Clara University on a full scholarship to play baseball. After two years at SCU, he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. He was then commissioned to play baseball for the U.S. Army’s Special Services Division for two years. Chuck then returned to Santa Clara, graduated, then started working in sales for Proctor & Gamble. In 1962, he established the Longwello, Miller, and Trapani insurance agency. Chuck spent most Sundays golfing with his family, followed by his famous pasta and meatball feast. He died November 10, 2022, and is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sharon, his five children, and many grandchildren.
