Carrie Toomey ’81 was a world traveler, voracious reader, hard worker, and fantastic aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was deeply involved in her local Catholic parish, where she taught catechism, sewed blankets for the sick, and participated in various church activities and groups. Known for her quick wit and warm heart, Carrie was the unofficial mayor of Lafayette Apartments, when transfer students were first housed together. Her career in finance took her from Los Angeles to Oregon, where she worked for Nissan Motor Acceptance. Carrie died on June 26, 2024, and is survived by sister Victoria Toomey Main ’81 and was preceded in death by her father, David Toomey ’54.
