Carrie Ann Shirota ’96 has been named a 2009 Open Society Institute Justice Fellow. A lawyer and advocate in Wailuku, Hawaii, Shirota  will work to mitigate and reduce the transfer of incarcerated Hawaiians to mainland prisons thousands of miles away.
