A personable woman with a great sense of humor, Carol Jean Lamoreaux M.A. ’86 was born in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Walter and Lillie Brumo. She grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, with her younger brother, Gary. Carol graduated from Western Michigan University and worked in hospital administration in Madison, Wisconsin. But it was SCU that brought Carol and her two children to California in 1980. She worked at SCU for over 25 years, retiring as university registrar in 2006. She also earned a graduate degree from SCU and took many art classes. After retirement, she moved to Santa Rosa and took a “post-retirement position” at Sonoma Academy as the school registrar, truly loving her direct interaction with students. Carol died on Jan. 14, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. Her greatest joy was her family, and she is survived by son John (Shelley), of Shorewood, Wisconsin and daughter Lisa Hargrove (Rick) of Castro Valley; grandchildren Katie, Joseph, and Karly of Wisconsin and John and David of California; brother Gary (Mary) Brumo; and nephews Aaron (Jeanie) Brumo and Abel Brumo.
