Avid outdoorsman Benedict Giese ’79 spent countless hours hiking, fishing, and camping with his family, sharing his knowledge and love of the wilderness with those around him. Ben loved sitting by the campfire and telling stories to his sons. He also had an extraordinary talent for painting watercolors, loved flying remote control airplanes, and creating beautiful music on his guitar. Ben will be remembered for his kind soul, his sense of humor, his passion for art and aviation, and most importantly, for being the world’s best Opa. Ben died May 12, 2023.
