Barry Shaffer MBA ’85 was a loyal Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan—ever hopeful, often disappointed. He double majored in horticulture and agricultural economics at North Carolina State University, where he proudly followed the Wolf Pack to Albuquerque, NM, to watch them win the 1983 NCAA basketball championship. After earning his MBA at SCU, he used his knowledge to support farmers across the U.S. and abroad. Barry lived life with energy and curiosity, enjoying running races like Bay to Breakers, cycling, swimming, traveling across the country and the world, reading, attending classic rock concerts, and tending his garden. Barry died on Aug. 17, 2025.
