There was nothing Ansel Paul Mello ’63 loved more than helping others. Lovingly known as “The Good Doctor,” Ansel considered patients and colleagues alike as friends and Saint Agnes Hospital was his second home. He spent countless hours there making his rounds and caring for those he called his “people.” His door was also always open to provide love and support to family and friends. Though he was rarely the first to arrive at a party, he was usually one of the last to leave. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Ansel died Jan. 12, 2022, and is survived by extended family including, son Branden P. Mello ’94, daughter Kirsten L. Years ’96, sister Lesley Harrison ’68, niece Kathryn A. Harrison ’04, nephews Gregory B. Harrison ’97 and Blake R. O’Neill MBA ’96, cousin Robert Reghitto ’62, and brothers-in-law Edwin R. O’Neill ’61 and Joseph B. Harrison MBA ’87.
