In addition to studying the social behavior of the Kinda baboobs, Weyher has set up a long-term research site dedicated to the study and conservation of the Kinda baboon, as well as developed science, environmental education, and conservation programs for the community. In particular, he Kasanka Baboon Project has created the Science, Math, and Conservation Club for Girls in the local area. With lessons held twice weekly at the Conservation Centre, the aim is to improve the girl’s science, maths, and English skills, while teaching them about conservation and giving them life skills such as first aid and computer ability.
