1990

Anna Petroutsas ’90 was born on July 19, 1967, in Watsonville. She attended Moreland Notre Dame, graduated from Watsonville High School, and went on to attend both San Francisco State University and SCU, graduating with a B.A. in English literature. Anna was known for her generous spirit, her dry sense of humor, and her graceful ability to speak truthfully and mindfully while answering to no one. She had an outstanding taste in literature and music and was always willing to share a good read, an excellent film, or a fantastic mixed tape with anyone who was interested. Anna had a great love and natural talent for writing. Over the years, she had her work showcased in various publications and always left her readers wanting more. Cool as ever and adored by all who had the pleasure of knowing her, she answered to a variety of monikers, including Nanaki, Anna Chiquita Banana PeTROUTfish, Medium Anna, and Rappin’ Rockin Anna. She passed away on Nov. 17, 2019, and is survived by her steadfast advocate and loving mother Theodora Petroutsas of Watsonville and also leaves behind aunts, uncles, many cousins, including Bessie P. Petroutsas ’95, nieces, and nephews who will miss her beyond measure. She is pre-deceased by her father, Tasos Petroutsas, and her best friend, confidant, and little brother George Petroutsas.
