The beloved daughter of the Robert E. Carey and Helen J. Carey, Ann E. Carey MBA ’99 was born on Oct. 28, 1957, in Palo Alto and grew up in Atherton, where she attended Convent of the Sacred Heart High School. A top athlete, Ann competed as a member of the NCAA varsity diving team at Stanford University, where she also earned a bachelor’s in English. She received a teaching credential from UC Berkeley, and earned an MBA at SCU, graduating with honors. After teaching third grade at Nativity Elementary School and working at high tech startup AG Associates, Ann ultimately became a development and investment real estate manager. Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling, playing golf, swimming, and diving. She was a woman of deep faith who loved spending time with her family and friends and had a kind and gentle soul, a thoughtful and loving heart, and always gave to others. Ann lost her long battle with cancer on May 19, 2019, surrounded by her family and close friends. She is survived by her mother, Helen; and her brothers Robert Jr. (Kay) and Thomas. She was a proud aunt to her two nieces, Michelle and Elizabeth.
