Andrew Barnes MBA ’79 retired in October 2013. He spent a long career in the computer industry, holding various sales/marketing and management positions.

 
After earning a BS Business Administration at UNLV, he worked in Las Vegas for five years selling commercial computer systems. He then relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he earned an MBA at Santa Clara University and was employed in Silicon Valley for the rest of his career. He worked at Sun Microsystems, Mentor Graphics and other companies, including start-ups. While at Sun he led a team that developed and rolled out a global program for major software partners. His travels took him throughout North America, Europe and Asia. He earned a number of sales awards and other recognitions, including being named a Sun Key Employee two times.
 
Barnes lives in Mountain View with his wife, Jenny. He is looking forward to more couple/grandkids time and taking up golf again (for the third time).  He gave himself a Porsche as a retirement present and has joined Porsche Club of America.
