Alfred Walsh Jr. ’54 had a successful career running his own private practice and serving as pro-tem district and circuit judge for Coos County, Oreg., and as municipal judge for the cities of Coquille and Myrtle Point. He was especially pleased to accept an appointment for several years as federal U.S. Magistrate for the Southern Oregon area. Al embodied the Christian principle of “love thy neighbor” and gave back to his community through volunteer work. He served in the parish council, taught children, and was a founding board member of the Sawdust Theatre, the Coquille Student Loan Fund, and the Carl Rietman Rotary Foundation. Al died Jan. 20, 2024.
