Albert Philip Cebrian ’54 passed away on January 1, 2011 in Modesto, Calif. at the age of 79. He was born in Santa Clara, Calif. on February 13, 1931 and was the youngest son of Manuel and Mary Cebrian. His two brothers Alfred and Alfonso preceded him into the kingdom of heaven and he survived by his eldest sister Augustina (Gussie) Welch. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Sonja; son Ralf (Mary) Cebrian of Santa Clara; grandsons Jason (Melissa) of Sunnyvale and Erik (Anna) of Saratoga, and his two great-grandchildren Alexander and Ryan. He graduated from Santa Clara High School and received his degree in mechanical engineering from Santa Clara University. Upon graduation he entered the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lt. and completed his basic training at Ft. Still, Okla. where upon he was assigned a tour of duty to Neu Ulm, Germany. During his tour of duty, he met and married Sonja Maria Greiner in Ulm, Germany in 1956. Upon his discharge from the US Army as a 1st Lt. he returned to the Santa Clara Valley. He had a 32-year career as a mechanical engineer for LMSC retiring to Sonora and then to Modesto, Calif. He loved to drive and traveled throughout the United States and Canada in his motor home bringing along his grandchildren, family members and friends.
