Adam Whalen ’15 says, "I graduated in 2015 with a BS in Biology and Public Health Science. I joined the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, a year-long intentional service organization that focuses on community, spirituality, simple living, and social justice. I live in Baltimore, MD with three other JVs, two of which graduated my year from Santa Clara as well (Patrick McDonell ’15, Cameron Coulter ’15). I am the Program Coordinator for Back on My Feet Baltimore. Back on My Feet is a national non-profit that uses running as a way to empower individuals who may be recovering from addiction, returning from incarceration, or at risk of becoming homeless. We run with our teams each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of the year at 5:30 am. As Program Coordinator, I work with each Member to track their progress through the program, and help them to achieve their personal goals of education, employment, and sustainable housing on their path to self-sufficiency. And I’m just about to start training for my first half marathon in April!"
